Minister says U.S. shamelessly uses sanctions to pursue interests
DVORIKI, Vladimir Region, Aug 11 (PRIME) -- U.S. actions to promote their economic interests in Europe using anti-Russian sanctions are shameless, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Friday.
“The latest package of anti-Russian sanctions has aroused opposition in Europe as it says directly that U.S.-made gas should be bought although it is much more expensive. (The sanctions are used both for) tying the trans-Atlantic relations with Europe and pursuing interests of own energy companies,” the official said.
“It is done shamelessly, with the use of methods of absolutely unfair competition.”
